Why Masquigon?
The name "Masquigon" represents the Ottawa Native American word—maps of the seventeenth-century coin the Muskegon River as the Masquigon River. The name was adapted as Muskegon upon the European settlement of the area. Masquigon Integrative Behavioral Health chose this name to represent the history of the area and encourage the public to explore the history of Muskegon.
